The craft of international arbitration: shown, not told.

Playbooks, annotated templates and video walkthroughs that reveal the judgment, strategy and craft of international arbitration, created for disputes lawyers across Africa.

Beyond procedure: the decisions, techniques and habits of thought that define accomplished practice.

The finest advocacy is learned by watching it done.

The most valuable lessons in arbitration are rarely written down: how a persuasive submission takes shape, how an effective cross-examination is prepared, when to press a point and when to let it go. This is craft, and craft must be seen and shown, not merely described.

Abdulai on Arbitration makes that craft visible: the techniques, judgment and working methods of international arbitration practice, shared openly with every disputes lawyer on the continent.

Rashida Abdulai, founder of Abdulai on Arbitration

The Founder

Rashida Abdulai

Rashida Abdulai is a prominent international arbitration lawyer specialising in commercial and investment arbitration, with a strong focus on matters tied to African operations. She has guided clients through high-stakes arbitrations under the ICC, LCIA and ICSID rules in sectors including energy and natural resources, telecommunications, consumer goods and financial services, as well as the court proceedings that often accompany them. A solicitor-advocate of the Senior Courts of England and Wales, she read law at King's College London and holds an LL.M. from New York University.

She created Abdulai on Arbitration to share, openly and in practical form, the craft she has spent a career learning by watching it done: how a persuasive case is built, how a negotiation is won, and what makes a submission a tribunal can act on. Alongside her own modules, the library features conversations with arbitrators, advocates and experts who shape how these disputes are decided, each invited to demonstrate their craft, not merely discuss it.
